7 Months and a Big Step

Today marked seven months since our arrival in Brussels!  The weekend came and went without much fanfare.  Saturday began with Ethan's soccer practice and the rest of the day we spent at home working on some projects that have been on the back burner.  We toyed with the idea of making a weekend trip, but as the cold, rainy weather settled in we opted to stay home and enjoy a big pot of chili for dinner instead!

The big news of the weekend actually comes from the boys room where Drew has graduated to a "big boy" bed.

The transition was probably a little sooner than I would have preferred, but lately he had taken to trying to climb out of the crib when he was "all done" sleeping.  Tonight is our first go at the new bed.  He is usually pretty worn out in the evenings, so I am not very concerened about the night time sleep. However, I am praying that this new bed does not put an end to his 2 hour afternoon naps!  It is hard to believe he is the same toddling one year old we brought with us to Brussels for our first visit nearly a year ago!

Hope he has an easy and great transition!

We're gonna to be moving up to a big boy bed after the move to CA, can't believe the "baby" is ready for that already!

Thanks! The first night went well. Can't say as much for the first nap time. He was out of his bed 5 times. My worst fears confirmed! This mom is not ready to give up nap time and Drew really needs the sleep. Hope all is going well as you prepare for the big move!

Sara, thanks so much for keeping us all updated with your posts. We moved Connor into a bigger big boy bed and gave Evan the big boy bed after our vacation. Evan has done amazingly....it's Connor who doesn't want to sleep in his own room! I'm loving the pictures and so glad that you all have adjusted! That's awesome that Jason's parents were able to visit. I'm sure it's a journey they will remember forever! Take care and talk to you soon!
