A Wintry Blast!

Last week, Belgium was hit with a winter storm.  From what we hear, this is a little early for such weather.  We had six consecutive days of snow and now we are dealing with the aftermath with lots of ice remaining on the roads.  Early this week we finally saw a bit of sun, and even though temps did not get above freezing the roads cleared a bit with the sunlight!

Here are a few photos of the winter wonderland!

This was the view Thursday morning.  The kids were thrilled to find out that school was cancelled, and I was thankful I didn't have to try to drive in the snow!

Thursday morning the kids and I played outside for a bit and took a small walk to look around the neighborhood.  The photo above shows the view just off our front porch.

We walked around the corner to the main street to check out road conditions.

Thursday evening Jason ventured outside to capture the winter wonderland.

This is the entrance to the clos.  Our street is similar to a large cul-de-sac with a green space in the middle, called a clos - pronounced clo with a long o and the s is silent.

This is the main street our small street is located off of.  The tram lines, which Jason uses each day for work, are located on the right of the picture.

The front of the house.  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
