The Nixes take Europe!

Our family is so excited to welcome my Dad and his wife, Jayne to visit us for the next ten days!  They arrived yesterday morning after an uneventful, only slightly delayed flight via Atlanta.  We spent the day yesterday allowing them to catch up on a bit of rest and see some of the everyday activities for our family, such as school pick-up and our Friday fun night with the kids.

We woke up with a hearty breakfast this morning and then headed off to Ethan's t-ball.  After t-ball, which is located in Waterloo, we headed to the Butte de Lion for a picnic lunch and to tour the monument.

It was a bit chilli outside, but thankfully we found a table in the sun to enjoy the beatiful farmland countryside of Waterloo.

We walked a few paths, the children threw rocks, picked flowers and talked a bit about the history in the area.

We are so excited to share these next days with Dad and Mrs. Jayne.  Tonight we are headed downtown for hot Belgian waffles smothered in chocolate, tomorrow we have plans to tour Bruges then we are off to Paris for a couple of days!  It will be an action packed week, for sure!
